Ratings
Performance
Great torque for motorway driving and overtaking. Don't have to change gear often. Pulls away without using the clutch even up hill. Handles well but not an involving drive, poor feedback through steering. Grips and brakes very well though.
Design
A few annoying things, e.g you have to take the headrests off to fold the seats down.
Comfort
Firm but smooth ride and quiet at speed. Good motorway car. Big boot, room for four adults as long as they're not all over 6ft like me. Driver seat adjustment a bit limited, it tilts as it rises. You can't do them independently.
Safety
Good alarm, four airbags. Got hit hard by a Honda Civic from behind and the damage was minimal. The Civic came off a lot worse.
Reliability
Never let me down in 50,000 miles but small electrical niggles.
Value
Better value than a Golf if you're not worried about resale value.
Running
Does 48-50mpg even in town, low road tax because of CO2. Parts are a little pricey but things generally last along time.
Problems
Bodywork Problems:Aircon clutch fell off, new replacement was £300 but bought a second hand one for £50 and had it fitted.
Engine Problems:Aircon clutch fell off, new replacement was £300 but bought a second hand one for £50 and had it fitted.
Gearbox Problems:No problems but bit of clunky change.
Electrics Problems:Electric mirrors are wired up wrong, tried three new switches and still didn't fix. Boot sensor intermittent fault, occasionally locks the car automatically or sets the alarm off. Air con clutch failed.
Customer Service

Was the car serviced by a franchised dealer? No
Service RatingConsidering I've done 50,000 miles in it and it's nearly at 140,000 miles, not a lot has really gone wrong with it. Still on the same set of brakes and discs, for example. Only to replace one wheel bearing, a sticking brake caliper, the aircon clutch and the alternator repaired.
