Manufacturer Ratings

All of Warranty Direct’s 50,000 live policies are used to build up a particular manufacturer’s ratings into one figure that should expose whether cars from this stable are generally reliable – or maybe not! Perhaps most models lack in a certain area, Audis suspensions might be a case in point. Any manufacturer can introduce the occasional misfit but this rating might give you the confidence to consider a later model edition or an alternative model from the same marque – or satisfy your general misgivings and encourage you to look elsewhere! Due to this being an average a single high or low scoring model can disproportionately affect the result however.

Here we have listed some of the parts that go to make up the figures we have produced and the frequency that these parts might fail – This list is not a complete list of what is covered under a Warranty Direct policy but an indication of frequency of failures Internal failure of the starter motor, alternator, regulator, distributor, windscreen wiper motor and tailgate wiper motor, heating fan motor, cooling fan motor, horn, central locking solenoids and motors, electric window motors and sunroof motors, electric door mirror motors and aerial motors, front and rear windscreen washer motors, headlamp adjuster motors, cruise control unit, trip computer, relays and wiring looms, rev counter, radiator cooling fan, indicator flasher unit. All solid state control and triggering units, where fitted as standard by the manufacturer.
